Manchester Airport Hotels Reviewed

By: Adrian Kinley

Article Word Count: 445

The Crown Plaza Hotel and The Bewley Hotel are two Manchester airport hotels that are just five minutes walk from either of the airports terminals.

Regardless of the day of the week, a room at The Bewley will cost you £79 ($160). Regarded as a 3 star, I would class it a 3.5 thanks to the newly fitted wireless system that is included in the price of your room.

The rooms are more than adequate and compared to other Manchester airport hotels, offers very good value for money. If you have a stop over in Manchester for the night then The Bewley Hotel is well suited to your needs.

Early wake up call is available for those early flights, as is a shuttle service if you have plenty of luggage and do not fancy the short walk. There is also a cash machine and a dining area with bar.

Several Manchester airport hotels, not suprisingly, cater for the business traveler. The one I checked in to review was The Crown Plaza Hotel. Situated next door to The Bewley, The Crown Plaza cost me £135 ($270) with breakfast included. It is classed a 4 star and I would say just about makes the grade. Room service, although on the expensive side, was available throughout the night. The TV comes with an entertainment system such as playstation games, movies etc. but all were charged to your credit card.

An internet service was freely available through LAN as was a shuttle service although no cash machine, which is a problem for people having a stop over at one of the manchester airport hotels.

For short business trips from the airport such as Manchester Gatwick, Manchester Isle of Man etc. The Crown Plaza offers airport car parking at £15 ($30) a day. This was the cheapest I saw on offer during my time at the airport.

Both the Bewley and the Crown Plaza were staffed with pleasant, well trained people. The Bewley offered an early morning call where as the Crown Plaza didn't unless asked for but that is being rather picky. Having stayed in both during July 2007 I would not have a problem recommending either of these 2 Manchester airport hotels. If you are on your way to a vacation destination, try the Bewley first as it offers good value for money. If you are on a business trip and its on expenses, then the Crown Plaza offers that extra bit of luxury.
